Please use this thread as a week-to-week space to ask your fellow /r/RimWorld colonists for assistance. Whether it be colony planning, help with mods, or general guidance, post any questions you may have here! If you have an effort post about a game mechanic then this is also fine space for that but please consider making a separate subreddit post for maximum visibility. I am a bot, so I can't make jokes. If you'd like a Typical Tuesday joke, or if there are any problems with this post, please message the moderators of the subreddit.

Story: I had a 20 person colony before attempting to launch the ship(was located to the right of the guest area.) I've never survived this long before so I didn't know that the ship would take 14 days to power up. The constant raiding caught me by surprise and by the 3rd days all my turrets are destroyed while at the same time 3/4 of my colonists are in the hospital. All my animals are dying one by one from the wounds because we didn't have enough nurses to spare. The Empire was putting in work but went from allied to hostile when my berzerked colonist attacked them. Regardless, the situation was stabilizing around day 5 until my entire hospital was destroyed by a wild mortar shot, killing all my colonists inside. My freezer was also destroyed by a siege and there was no food left At this point the colony was in a hopeless situation like 1453 Constantinople, the raids were relentless and there were so many enemies that they began attacking each others inside my base as if it's a fight club. I had 4 colonists left and only one, Delores, a bloodlust psychopath, was healthy. I used Delores to run around corners picking off people one by one while chaos was going on. When the dust settled I used her to carry all the colonists to crytosleep caskets because there's no way i can last for 9 more days with no food and no defense while all the colonists are near death. Delores was surviving for the next few day by herself until more raids show up. I hope to employ the same strategy of picking people off one by one while they fight each other. However this time it was too much. So I made her go into the ship's crytosleep caskets and hope all the raiders don't touch the ship until the ship launch. Another person, Toni, also went into the ship's crytosleep caskets. More raids came along with more siege shots on the ships. Unfortunately, one of the shot hit Delores' sleep caskets and she died instantly. Press F for tribute. Nevertheless the ship is still intact as we get closer to the 14 day mark. The radiers can't find the ship for some reason but the sieges are extremely dangerous. A single shot at the right target could end all my hardwork and all the sacrifice to get this far All ships part were heavily damaged, one of the engine was at 6%. I didn't know if I was going to make it, and then all of the sudden, "REACTOR READY." Finally after 300 hours, I've beaten this game against impossible odds. I was so elated that I ran around the room and shouting random words not knowing how to react to this improbable wins. Shoutout to Tynan Sylvester and staffs for creating this wonderful game.

I built a shrine for my founding colonist after they died in the first year. I only just now read the description of the artwork. I have decided this is the life they shall live by. No one will have nobility in this colony, only despair. All to respect Teddy, king of depression.

What would be the best material to build a wall (not for shelter, its for a killbox or something to use as a protection from raids and such)

I have played this game over the years, haven't gotten royalty and whilst I love it, I hated feeling like "Spaceship" was the only thing in the Endgame, I would rather make my own faction, expand and colonize the world. Is it feasible?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 07:17 AM PST

I started a new game recently as a morally questionable medical colony, going to steal organs and focus on production and offering advanced medical services and goods.

But I keep finding myself questioning why, a lot of people have told me or I have seen them writing online that a spaceship should be the game's only true goal and that there is no point to running a big colony. To me I always wanted to build a town more than reach the goal of leaving the planet. I would rather feel better about just civilizing and settling this RimWorld. But is this possible?

I know a CPU death is basically inevitable but I feel like I would have reached a better starting position through that.. Idk just a strange question.

My raiders are using stone chunks as ammo for their mortar. I have vanilla furniture expanded - security that adds a catapult that uses chunks as ammo. Not sure how to fix this though.
