Idk if anyone remembers me but I posted about year ago complaining that I don’t have a computer to play rimworld on

    Posted: 27 May 2020 04:39 PM PDT

I just wanted to let y'all know that after a year of saving(and unforeseen expenses) my parents just gave me the last 200$ for my birthday

A brand new computer is arriving on June 5th and literally the first thing im going to do is install rimworld and play for the next 6 months

Edit: for some background, about 3 years ago my laptop broke and was deemed unfixable. I've been pretty broke for a while and haven't been able to afford a new one so no more gaming

I got deep into iOS gaming but I was never able to find a mobile that came close to scratching the itch rimworld did.

So for three years I've been scrolling past posts from this sub very sad that I couldn't play

And here is a link to my original post: https://reddit.com/r/RimWorld/comments/bcbby4/i_miss_rimworld_yall/

SCP 001 (when day breaks) mod proposal

    Posted: 28 May 2020 01:12 AM PDT

    Link to article: http://www.scp-wiki.net/shaggydredlocks-proposal

The mod would word sort of like toxic fallout where it will last for a couple of days or years and eventually go away.

Anyone or anything outside after the SCP 001 event happens will turn into a gelatinous mass and will try to get you outside.

The creatures will act like man hunters so they will sort of roam outside of your base if everyone is inside. If they're able to get into your base and down someone they will grab them and drag them outside for them to turn.

If a 001 entity is on the other side of a thin wall the 001 entity will start ranting and telling them to come outside and if that happens for long enough the person will have a mental break and either

    1. Go outside and turn

    Or

    1. Let the creatures in and let them grab people

The only way to really 'kill them' is to freeze them or burn them. Or once the event is over they will just die.

You will be able to go outside but you'd have to wear THICK clothing or a hazmat suit and then you'd be fine.

I'd love to see this mod added because I love SCP and hopefully someone out there makes it

    The Boys go Raiding

    Posted: 28 May 2020 05:45 AM PDT

Had a lot of fun the other day writing a quick story about my new favourite colonist. I recently sent Elmer out to raid some ruins and test out his new sword. Here's how I imagined it went down.
    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

"Of course it had to start raining."

"Not a fan of getting a little wet Elmer?"

"Jo.....I'm wearing a full suit of wooden plate armor."

"You're the one who put it on. We were going to sell it."

"Yea, well, until Dove actually finishes a flak jacket I wanted to have some proper armor."

The two walked on in silence for a few more hours before Jo finally spoke again.

"Come on! Another damn mountain? We've got to be close by now right? We've been out here for two days already."

"Hold up Jo, all the mountains around here are slate, sometimes limestone. This thing isn't either of those." As they got closer, it became clear that Elmer was right. What seemed like another massive body of rock from afar was actually a man made structure. "It's sandstone-"

"And enormous!" Peering down his left and right, Jo was unable to tell where the building's wall ended and the mountain began. "Shit, someone's been hunkered down here even longer than us."

"There's no way anyone still lives here Jo, these bricks have been shot to shit, and they're practically disintegrating." Running his hand along the surface, Elmer felt then rain turning the fine stone dust into a grainy muddy substance. "We'd probably be better off breaking straight in from here instead of trying to go around and find a door."

    "You bring any tools?"

"For a raid? No, and no, I'm not using Warkeeper as a pickaxe."

"Wasn't going to ask you to." Just then, Jo caught some movement in his peripheral vision. "We've got company."

"So we do." Turning to their right, the men found themselves staring out at two assailants. Their drawn weapons, and the fact that they were sprinting made it very clear they were hostile. "You thinking tribals?"

"Definitely, I can see the warpaint from here." Jo clicked off the safety on his rifle then looked down at the blade on Elmer's hip. "Wanna give your new toy a test run?"

"Absolutely." As he started running forward, Elmer drew the blade and set the plasma edge to start charging, it wasn't long before he heard the familiar voice.

"Oooh shit, it's go time isn't it?"

"Hell yea. Time to see what you can do."

"Well, you have a sword, he has a knife. Make the first swing before we get into his range." Elmer obeyed and swung up and across the target's body as he got close. There was some resistance and he knew he connected. "We only got the surface! He can still fight back! He's going to slash, block it or dodge left!" The words had barely registered before Elmer found his right knee driving into a now bloodied body. As his opponent staggered backward Elmer finished it quickly with a downward slash. Satisfied that this enemy was dead, Elmer's view moved back up to the next target. As he took his first step, he heard three gunshots ring out behind him. The first bullet landed square in the young man's shoulder, the second in his chest, and the third would have joined it if the poor bastard hadn't already fallen over dead.

"Damn I'm good!" Jo congratulated himself as he caught up to Elmer. "You see that grouping? Almost perfect!"

"I hope you can keep that up for the next ones."

    "Huh?"

"There are three more coming, just around this pile of rocks in fact."

"How the hell can you tell? Don't tell me that sword makes your senses sharper too!"

"No, but he is using them at the same time. While I have to keep track of mundane things like talking to you, Warkeeper can focus entirely on our surroundings and opponents."

    "Cool."

"Also, can you sweep out to the right this time? Those shots were uncomfortably close to hitting me. It's not that I don't trust you Jo, I just don't trust anyone with a gun standing behind me."

"Fair." Starting a slight jog out, Jo was surprised to see how accurate Elmer had been. Three more tribals were cresting around the rock face, moving about the same speed he was. Instinctively he brought his weapon to his shoulder and aimed in, only to lower it again as he saw Elmer charging.

"This one's weakened, she can barely hold that club. Use this momentum and thrust straight through the chest." Slamming blade first into the older woman made her practically bounce away and slide clean off of Elmer's weapon. "Next up is a leftie, wait for the stab and take her hand off after she overextends. A quick step to the right and before he knew it Elmer found himself looking at a severed stump. "You swung harder than I expected, but we can use that! Tweak your wrist to the side and we can take a leg off too." As the body fell to the ground, Elmer looked up once more to see his final opponent, but now they were running away. "We gonna chase them down?"

"No. They aren't worth it. These three were more than enough fun." Looking back over his kills, Elmer felt a slight tingle. It wasn't the same rush he got from an all out brawl, but it was enough. How could it anyway? These tribals had wounds caused by someone other than him. They were likely exhausted, starved too. Elmer wondered if it was desperation or insanity that drove them. "Besides, Jo should take him down any second now." Glancing over his shoulder, Elmer was slightly annoyed to see Jo jogging over to him. "Uhh, Jo, I brought you and your rifle along for a reason."

"I know, but it looked like you had that under control."

"We did, that doesn't mean you should just sit back and let a known enemy get away though! You know full well how many times that tribe has attacked us, and the damage they've done in the process."

"I'm not shooting someone in the back."

"Not intentionally anyway." Elmer wanted to protest further, but the conviction in Jo's voice, and the look in his eyes made Elmer just shrug it off. Somehow, even though he was without question the highest ranking member of the group in the Empire's eyes, Elmer couldn't see himself as a leader the same way he did Jo. "Seeing as we've started moving around this thing anyway, let's see if we can't find a door."

A couple minutes of walking led the two to a door, a few well placed shots from Jo's rifle let them inside. Beneath the mountain, the sounds of the pouring rain had almost disappeared, a subtle reminder of their own similar home.

"You go left, I'll go right?"

"Sounds good." The two of them split up, hoping the massive compound still contained something to make the trip worthwhile.

    "Find anything cool?"

"Yea, a real bitch of door. Got it cracked open and found a pile of meds." Elmer let the bag fall off his shoulder and blue cases of medicine spilled out. "Even a few boxes of that really good stuff you can only get your hands on from glitterworld traders."

    "Awesome!"

    "How about you?"

"A busted safe with a ton of silver in it."

    "Seriously?"

"Yea, it was some serious shit though. If it weren't for a chunk of ceiling falling in on it, I would have definitely needed you and Warkeeper to get in there."

    "That it?"

"Pretty much. There was a bunch of plasteel in there too, most of it was just trash but some of it should be salvageable."

"Meds, money and mats. Sounds like a productive day to me."

"Agreed, let's load up Ladysmith and get the hell out of here."

"Already so anxious to leave? Coming out here was your idea Jo."

"I know that, but honestly? I'm starting to go crazy without my nightly poker game with Chimp, and bedrolls or not, I'm really tired of sleeping on the dirt."
