Typical Tuesday Tutorial Thread -- December 01, 2020 Posted: 01 Dec 2020 12:17 AM PST Please use this thread as a week-to-week space to ask your fellow /r/RimWorld colonists for assistance. Whether it be colony planning, help with mods, or general guidance, post any questions you may have here! If you have an effort post about a game mechanic then this is also fine space for that but please consider making a separate subreddit post for maximum visibility. I am a bot, so I can't make jokes. If you'd like a Typical Tuesday joke, or if there are any problems with this post, please message the moderators of the subreddit. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2020 01:05 AM PST I am so genuinely proud of our community, of how wonderful and generous you all are. The event's original goal was only $20,000, which I think was last year's total. Day two already had us far past that. The second goal was $50,000, and was hit on day four. It was increased again to $65,000, and for a third time, you just blew past it. I just want to thank you. Everyone who donated, everyone who watched, everyone who spread the word. u/Suwey who put this all together. All 36 streamers who not only kept us entertained, but held the potato colony going continuously for more than five days. Everyone who worked behind the camera to keep things running smoothly. Tynan, who created this game we all love, the game that brought us all together. You are amazing, all of you. Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is such an incredible charity that does a lot of good in this world, and every little bit goes a long way in helping them. It's never too late to help out a worthwhile cause. You can click this link here to visit the donation page on Tiltify, if you still want to donate: https://tiltify.com/+hot-potato-charity-event-2020/hpcharity2020 If you missed the stream, the VODs are being posted here. At the time of posting this, it's a bit of a work in progress, though it'll be complete before too long: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XA7i4u1Tb-1aNXiitNQglwvCx-qmytJ1_2jbb04tFgo/edit?usp=sharing Everything will eventually be posted on YouTube, but I'm not entirely certain on when that will be finished. However, the interview with Tynan will be up soon (hopefully within the next day or so) -- we'll post the link once it's up. And as a fun bonus -- here's every save from the potato being passed between streamers, whether you want to see how things went, or if you want to go to the end and launch the ship yourself: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Hb2IGqEvyFSbequ10ndl-qyagtW2p0Yj?usp=sharing Thank you again for an incredible event. Hopefully, we can do it again next year! \o/ [link] [comments] |

Posted: 01 Dec 2020 03:42 AM PST We need more then just 'get off the planet and go home' getting off planet with royals was interesting because your colonists are like "hey so we gonna stay with these guys or get a ship and find home?" Why is there no stay on planet ending? It could be a research like the ship, the research could unlock something like a flag, once you plant it in the ground the credits roll. Or it could just be a survive X amount of time, survive a final raid to trigger the credits. The ending could be the "This is our home now" ending. A combat focused ending would be cool to, like at the beginning of the game declare another faction as your rivals and to win you got to destroy there settlements. [link] [comments] |

How much does using a SSD improve load times for heavily modded? Posted: 01 Dec 2020 09:41 AM PST I'm planning on getting one next week to go with Cyberpunk but I'm wondering if it'd be worth shifting off my external hdd. Apparently it can reduce the 5 minute load time of Total Warhammer 2 to about 20 - 30 seconds, anyone know how good it is for Rimworld? [link] [comments] |
