A star IN my solar system...? You'd think that might have somewhat more of a bad effect. (Power++ Mod)

My new colony proudly produced its first masterwork item today ... it's a patchleather doormat. :(

A fun little experiment with a mod for everyone!

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 03:36 AM PDT

And by fun, I mean, "Please for the love of your sanity I recommend you read this story but do not try it yourself."

So there's a pregnancy mod (no, not that one you freaks) called Children and Pregnancy. Once upon a time, it was my fav pregnancy/generational mod because it was pretty slim even with the included cribs, beanies, and onesies for the kiddos. However, it's currently not working.

But, me, being the ever intrepid experimenter who wanted to test further to see if fixing it would be worth the effort, decided to expand the options settings to all the animals in the game to see if it's just people it's broken for, or if the mod is fundamentally broken. So I went through and turned on the mod handling of pregnancy and life stages for everything.

Now there's one more teensy little thing this mod adds. When an infant needs drop low enough, it gives the lil' guy a flashing exclamation point overhead and they start crying. Like literally the sound of a human baby crying. Like literally, the sound your brain has been programmed by thousands upon thousands of years of evolution to never ignore.

Well, going back to my experiment, winter came. And all the animals were hungry. And all the animals were just a year or two old because I've been hunting pretty regularly. So as far as the mod was concerned, all these things are infants cuz infant is anything less than 3 years old.

Pretty sure y'all know where this is going by now. I mean, I'm not being subtle in my foreshadowing. Not even a little bit.

My game ERUPTED into babies crying. And there was nowhere I could move the camera to hide from it because even the rats that are running everywhere are crying like human babies. And the gazelles. And even the muffalo which is just wrong on so many levels.

Needless to say, I felt obligated to come and warn y'all about the potential dangers. I know everyone is already walking on the razor's edge of sanity, and I'd hate for something like this to be the straw that pushes you over.

    Quests

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 05:06 AM PDT

The Quest-system is probably the best thing they implemented in the game thus far. It keeps the flow of the game and diversifies the game. Before the quests i rarely went caravaning of any kind, now i can't get enough of it! I'm currently playing a yes to all quests scernario with more quests mod, on randy savage.. it's intense.

What's the point in making barns and kibble/hay for animals?

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 03:51 AM PDT

I just have all my animals roam around the map to graze on grass and restrict them to indoors whenever a raid happens. I've never understood the use in building a barn and making kibble and hay but everyone seems to be doing it.
