Vote/nominate for /r/RimWorld's 'best of 2019' Posted: 26 Dec 2019 11:30 AM PST Happy holidays, colonists! Just like last year, /r/RimWorld will be participating in reddit's annual 'Best of' awards. Every year, the site admins gift reddit coins to subreddits who, in turn, award them to winners of various categories. The winners are nominated and voted on by the subreddit's users. The RimWorld moderators have put together the following 5 categories. As we are still not omniscient beings, we've also included a 6th 'Choose-your-own' category. Unlike last year, we have more reddit coins to play around with so the prizes this year are a bit more intense. Prizes

Pssst... wanna buy some cabbages? Posted: 06 Jan 2020 03:52 AM PST Cabbages? Is that a euphemism for something else? Hmm. Apparently not. Seems like a lucrative niche market, though. [link] [comments] |

Man this game is something else. Posted: 05 Jan 2020 08:31 PM PST This game is amazing. I have about 250 hours in this game with about 7hrs in my current run. Everything was going pretty okay, if not kinda of boring, for awhile so I was just building up my base a little bit. When the bulk trader came through and I was selling him all my drugs I noticed he had a female monkey for sale and I hatched an idea. I bought the monkey and planned on (in)breeding with my current companion monkey "Allen" for a fun Planet of the Apes type surprise for the next raid that comes my way. After a few in game days the female monkey becomes pregnant and everything is going to plan until one poor timed "zzzttt". My power grid exploded but thankfully I'm in a mountain base and have next to no flammables. After surveying the damage the only thing I lost was a marble wall and a dresser; but next to the dresser Female Monkey is incapacitated and needs to be saved. I send my best doctor to help her right away. She's badly burned, lost an eye, and has a cracked leg but thankfully it looks like she'll make it. The only problem is the explosion gave her a concussive induced abortion and I lost the pregnancy, but I'll be damned if I was giving up on her so I patched her up and waited. Once the burns started healing she unfortunately developed an infection that I couldn't treat fast enough and I had to make the call; it was time to amputate. The surgery was a success and she is sitting in her handlers room now recovering from the burns and amputation. Now the only thing left to do is actually name her. TL;DR - Boring start, bought a monkey to bred into an elite fighting force until an explosion caused an abortion and an infection ultimately made me amputate a monkey's arm all before I could even name them.
