Typical Tuesday Tutorial Thread -- September 01, 2020

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 01:18 AM PDT

Please use this thread as a week-to-week space to ask your fellow /r/RimWorld colonists for assistance. Whether it be colony planning, help with mods, or general guidance, post any questions you may have here! If you have an effort post about a game mechanic then this is also fine space for that but please consider making a separate subreddit post for maximum visibility. I am a bot, so I can't make jokes. If you'd like a Typical Tuesday joke, or if there are any problems with this post, please message the moderators of the subreddit.

    We don't talk about it.

    I have no words.

I wanted to get rid of some wake up (chem fascination colonist) so I force gave it to this noble from the first quest, he got 4 doses in and then just straight up died, no downed message or anything (do not talk about the floor situation. it’s early game I hate it as well)

Decided to do some colonist art of my own! This is Ripa and he is the musclebound defender of our mostly-medieval, Viking-themed colony

Every faction hates me because I killed and ate their people during a time when our people didn't know what hydroponics were on the ice sheets. What are things I can do to fix this so I get trade caravans?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 12:20 AM PDT

I barely have anything besides a cave and a lot of potatoes from my hydroponics.

Since I encountered bugs in this awesome mod I am unable to continue development of this ship. Therefore meet proud starship of the residents of Vault 1337: 1337 Enterprise (I am creative ain't I?)

Would corpses from previous raiders be a better obstacle than stone chunks/sandbags in your mazes?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 07:07 AM PDT

Whenever I built a maze leading to my killbox, I would always use stone chunks or sandbags to slow raiders down giving me more time to prepare my colonists.

But I have had this idea for a while that maybe corpses would be a better way to delay them? I'm not sure how long it takes to climb over them compared to chunks or sandbags, but wouldn't the ''Observed Rotting Corpse'' debuff be better since it stacks and can cause them to break before reaching my defenses?

You guys hype up rimworld as this super violent war criminal simulator but I'm letting my girlfriend play for the first time and she just wants to be a guinea pig farmer. Y'all should take some notes.
