Posted: 02 Apr 2020 07:22 AM PDT Not sure if this counts as low effort but there is only one way to find out Ask me a rimworld-related question and once I've answered, edit your comment to make me look like an asshole or a weirdo [link] [comments] |

Randy finally got me last night Posted: 02 Apr 2020 06:38 AM PDT Bought the game about 2 weeks ago, been playing a little bit, decided to play Randy Savage because "eh fuck it, lets go dude" Load up a nice coastal mountain because I never did a mountain base properly, great positioning, set up in the center for a temporary little start while I mine out the mountain and get growing Get one raid, no biggy, take care of it, set up stone cutting, have my guy who can't haul anything cut stone and hunt, learn pemmican, etc. Get another raid, no big deal again. Then I get another raid immediately after that. And then there was 2 more immediately after that. And then my tamer tried to tame a wild boar and triggered the whole pack of 16 other wild boars into manhunter mode. I somehow survived through that and then randy sent 10 alphabeavers at me and there was still 2 raiders off in some corner who decided it would be a good time to attack. I'm still hanging on by a thread, no pawns lost but I did lose my Tortoise named Natasha when she valiantly killed 4 of the 16 wild boars. RIP Natasha, daddy misses you. [link] [comments] |

Maybe I don't want to be the bad guy anymore? Posted: 02 Apr 2020 03:00 AM PDT I know being a psychopathic sadist is part of the fun, but have you ever tried to be the good guy in this savage world? I present you with "The Good Guy" ruleset: - You can not let any pawn die on purpose. No matter if he is the enemy, crashed transport pod, or one of your own. Armed attackers excluded, of course. - If you have the possibility to buy a slave to free them, you must do it. (credit: DocCannery84) - You can not harvest organs from prisoners for profit or sell them for slavery. Organ harvesting is only allowed if it's from a colonist and the organ is to be transplanted to another pawn. - You can not cripple the prisoners to prevent them from escaping, and if they try to escape, do not use lethal force if it's not necessary. - You should provide decent living conditions for your prisoners and pawns alike. - You should provide appropriate prosthetics and implants for the colonists that became disabled. And try to restore them to full health to the best of your ability. - You can not banish, execute, or otherwise get rid of any colonist. No one gets left behind. - You can not raid other factions or kill their caravans. - Cannibalism not allowed, and all colonists and allies that die on your map need to be buried in graves. Crematorium still allowed for hostile and neutral factions. (credit: comernator97) - You can't make, sell or use hard drugs. Luciferium is an exception, but is only allowed for curing permanent injuries. (mistake corrected: *CAN'T , not CAN) - Slaughtering tamed and self-tamed animals not allowed except farm animals or disabled pets no longer able to walk or in permanent pain severe or higher. Pets are treated as good as PCs (meals provided, saved from combat) (credit: DocCannery84) I have tried playing like this, and the only problem is the toll it takes on my PC, as the amount of pawns piles up, but other than that, I must say it's pretty fun to be a good guy for a change. Let me know if I missed something unethical. [link] [comments] |
This game had me tearing up, the last two survivors of my base, who were rivals became friends. Posted: 01 Apr 2020 07:36 PM PDT For starters, the two concerned parties, Leio and Crim. Leio came to us by way of raid capture and recruitment and Crim by saving him from pursuers who at the time were part of Leio's tribe. Leio, once recruited fell in love with one of my originals, Sera and they were quickly engaged. Crim also loved Sera and he and Leio became rivals and just kind of coldly worked side by side for several months. Crim was an Undergrounder, so was usually up at night working while Leio preferred to be outside in the day, so it worked. Crim's quarters shared a wall with Leio and Sera, so I imagine he could hear their "double bed activities" shall we say, while he was up late at night Researching in his room. Then, disaster: A raid on a bandit outpost went poorly and four members of the caravan were lost, including Sera. Both men had breaks, Crim binging on food and Leio upon returning to the base, threw a tantrum and had to be arrested. But the base needed to keep running and with the other survivor, Hortan, they kept things operationally and trade thrived. I sent Leio to take a bunch of cowboy hats to a nearby trade to fill a request but the Infinite Chemreactor was too heavy for just him, so Crim joined to help haul it home. In the meantime, a Guinea Pig went manhunter and attacked Hortan, who easily killed it but died because no one else was around to treat his wounds and he bled out. The prisoners he was attending to died of starvation before Crim and Leio could get back. The two rivals returned to an empty base, filled with blood and corpses. This was too much for Leio to bear and he went catatonic. Crim carried him to his bed and went about cleaning up the base. Leio was catatonic for nearly a week. Crim brought him food each day and once the cleaning and hauling was done, went to his room to research. Leio soon came around and had nothing to do, Crim had the base running well enough. And sat down to the chess table, Crim soon joined him and they spoke and went about various tasks. They would occasionally have meals together or play chess and after a time became friends, perhaps out of necessity. Then, I sent Leio on a fetch quest to grab a shield belt, which went fine but wouldn't you know it, food poisoning from berries. Leio almost made it all the way home but collapsed in a medical emergency less than half a day away from the base. Crim scrambled to get to him but it was too late. Crim was always pretty stoic and didn't break but was eaten by a Warg when he went outside to plant, which is probably why he didn't care to go outside. [link] [comments] |
Why can't cannibals start eating downed pawns? Posted: 02 Apr 2020 07:05 AM PDT The other day I saw a Komodo dragon eating a deer and her fetus ALIVE, on a comment on a reddit thread. Truly disgusting stuff.
Anyway the point is, why can't Rimworld pawns start eating downed pawns. [link] [comments] |
