Go-juice testing 2, electric boogaloo (This time in a more real world scenario) Posted: 28 Aug 2020 05:59 AM PDT So a couple days ago I made a post comparing pawns on go-juice to other midgame combat enhancing options, as well your bog standard default pawn. While those tests did show that go-juice was the best option, it was in such an isolated and unrealistic scenario that it'd be hard to judge how much it would actually improve a pawns capabilities in combat. And so, I decided to do some more testing in a fashion that would more easily and effectively compare these different options. In this test I had 3 melee pawns block a 1 wide gap with insects attacking until all pawns were downed or killed. I then Counted how many insects were taken out, and repeated the test 5 times to get an average result. All pawns used had 10 melee. Results will be displayed as follows: Tested item: %of insect kills based on normal pawn (Actual number of kills) Normal steel plate armour, normal steel longsword
Normal marine armour, normal plasteel longsword
Bionics included: 2 bionic legs, 2 bionic arms, 2 bionic eyes, and a bionic heart As can be seen from the results above go-juice is the superior option (as my previous test showed), however you can now see that it can improve performance by over 300% compared to a regular pawn. It also shows that the more armour a pawn has, the more effective go-juice becomes as more attacks are just bruises rather than cuts allowing the pain reduction of the drug to have a bigger impact. The same things happens with yayo, but interestingly not the painstopper, probably due to leg damage downing pawns from <15% movement, while both go-juice and yayo increase movement speed to counter this. Another important thing to note from these results is that go-juice is even more effective than full bionics. Seeing as go-juice is significantly cheaper (1 yayo, 2 neutromaine) than all the bionics used (28 advanced components, 105 plasteel), it is still worth using go-juice even in the late game. ________________________________________ So I didn't burn myself out and come to hate myself this time because I actually learned from my previous test (yay, learning). I didn't do too many tests, and didn't do too many different kinds of tests (though I did consider testing flak armour, but decided against it... writing this has made me want to test flak armour vs plate armour for melee (no go-juice involved, just armour), dammit). Anyway so I hope this was helpful in helping people see the glorious power of performance enhancing wonder drugs/super soldier serum. I'd love to have some discussion in the comments, and maybe if you guys have some things that you want to see tested say so and if I like the idea I might do it.
